HPI Safety Engine Stop System (#85068) - For The HPI Savage
Overall: 9/10
I bought this gadget because I was sick of getting my finger burnt by the exhaust pipe. Installing it was a real breeze! All I had to do was take the engine out (with engine mount), and then assemble the system and install it. This all took about 10 minutes.
I noticed that after running the truck with this system installed, dirt would get stuck in the mechanism and everything would get stuck. I simply sprayed everything with WD-40, and it worked like a charm again.
Overall, this is a great, convenient little gadget, and is well worth the price!

HPI Unassembled 3-Speed Transmission (#87220) - For The HPI Savage
Overall: 9/10
It was a bit of a mission to install this kit, as the instructions were not so clear. After installing everything, I noticed that the gearbox wasn't sealing properly. I saw that there was a nylon bushing on the drive shaft inside the gearbox. The bushing was too long, so I had to rub some meat off it. You should rub enough off so that you can put the E-Clip into the small opening on the left corner of the shaft.

Then I put everything back together, and checked that everything sealed properly. When I drove my truck with this kit for the first time, it was not shifting at all. To set the 1st to 2nd gear shift requires you to take the gearbox apart, so I completely tightened the 2nd to 3rd shift set screw (so it wouldn't shift at all), and adjusted the 1st to 2nd shift until I was happy. After that, I adjusted the 2nd to 3rd shift, which was much easier.
Since then, I haven't had any issues with this kit, and it has given a big performance increase to my truck.

LRP Z.28R Spec. 3 Engine (#32802) - For All Models (1/8 Scale)
Overall: 9/10
The LRP Z.28R is an amazing engine. It was really easy to break in (using the heat-cycle method) and tune. It is very powerful, and will add a whole new level of performance to your truck. I recommend using the following parts with this engine:

You can run with the stock dogbones and cup joints until they twist or break, and then upgrade to the Innovative RC dogbones and cup joints.
